Moving in
On the page, you will find a moving checklist, key collection and exchange instructions, how to conduct a move-in inspection, and tips for the early stages of living in your new home. With these guidelines, your move will go smoothly.

Key pick-up and key handover
The move-in date is the start date of the lease. The exception is if the start date falls on a weekend or holiday. In this case, the move-in date will be the first weekday following the start date of the rental agreement.
Moving days for 2025:
2 Jan, 3 Feb, 3 March, 1 April, 2 May, 2 June, 1 July, 1 Aug, 1 Sep, 1 Oct, 3 Nov, 1 Dec.
You can pick up the keys from our service office no earlier than the first weekday of the month between 12 noon and 16.00.
If you are unable to pick up the keys on your moving day, please inform us via email when you will be able to collect them: housing@ayy.fi
Please note! Residents of Maapadontie exceptionally pick up the keys directly from
the maintenance company .
If your lease begins in the middle of the month, you can pick up the keys on the start date of the lease during opening hours.
If you are unable to pick up the keys yourself, you can authorize someone to do so on your behalf by providing a power of attorney.
- The person picking up the keys must have a printed copy of the power of attorney with them.
- If printing the document is not possible, you can email it to both the authorized person and housing@ayy.fi before the move-in date.
You can also arrange to receive the keys directly from the departing resident. In this case:
- Fill in and sign the key handover agreement.
- The departing resident submits the key handover agreement to the service office on the moving day.
Before signing the key handover agreement, please inspect the condition of the apartment, as by signing the agreement you also accept the condition of the apartment.
If you do not have the contact details of the previous resident, you can send them a message via Domo’s contact feature.
Please note that it is not possible to pick up the keys before the moving day, even if the apartment is already vacant and the previous resident has returned the keys.
You may receive items from the departing resident only when handing over the keys, and only if this has been agreed upon separately with the resident. Please note that you will be responsible for any items left behind.
A dishwasher can only be left in the apartment when handing over the keys if this has been agreed upon separately. In this case, the next resident will assume full responsibility for the dishwasher. Otherwise, the dishwasher must be removed by the departing tenant.
If there are items left by the previous resident when you move in, please submit a defect report. If you choose to accept these items, please note that you will be responsible for them.
