Jämeräntaival 1

Description

Jämeräntaival 1 is the only residential building in the Teekkari Village designed by Alvar Aalto. The exterior of the building is made of red brick, typical of Aalto’s style, but conceals interesting architectonic solutions, such as the wonderfully geometric staircases. Jämeräntaival 1 floor plans are unique and suit all kinds of residents. Large, shared apartments with rooms for 10–12 people provide the opportunity for bigger roommate communities. However, each room is equipped with its own bathroom and fridge to ensure privacy and comfort. The nearest grocery stores are located in the A Bloc shopping centre, next to the metro station, and the wide range of services in Tapiola is just a few minutes away by metro. For many Aalto students, a fairly large (17–24 m2) room with its own bathroom in a shared apartment is their very first home.
